⏪ How to use Version History in your Flowbuilder
Did you make a change to your bot and want to go back to how it was before? Now it's possible! With the new Version History, you can review and restore the latest modifications to your flows as if you had a time machine, all safely and without breaking what's in production.
⚙️ Step by step to restore a flow
Using this function is super intuitive. Follow these steps to recover a previous design:
Enter the workspace of your flow within the Flowbuilder.
Click the three dots button (⋮) located in the top menu and select "Version History".
A right side panel will open. There you will see your current version and a list with the latest saved or published versions. Each record will show you what action was performed, the date, time, and the name of the user who made the change.
Identify the version you want to recover and click on Restore version.
You will see a loading screen and an informative banner will appear at the top indicating which version you are viewing.
🛡️ Security guaranteed: Don't worry! When you click "Restore", the live flow (the one your customers see) doesn't change at all. The old version is only loaded on your editing screen as a draft. For the changes to actually apply, you must explicitly click the Save or Publish button. If you change your mind, simply close the screen without saving and everything will remain the same.
🚧 Limitations you should know about
To keep the platform fast and optimized, the history has some operating rules:
Memory limit: The history will show you a maximum of 3 previous versions, plus the current version you are working on. It is not possible to travel to versions older than those.
Starts counting from March 25, 2026: The system begins creating the history based on the actions (save/publish) you perform after this update. If you open an old flow you haven't touched in months, it's completely normal that you only see "1 version" until you make a new change.
Only within the canvas: This function only lives within the Flowbuilder workspace. You won't see the history from the general flow list.
Active channels rule: If your flow is already connected to a channel (like WhatsApp), the platform will maintain its usual behavior: it will only allow you to "Publish" the restored version, not save it as a draft.
🚨 Frequently asked questions and solutions
❓ "I don't see previous versions in my history, it's empty" This is not a platform error. As mentioned above, old flows that have not been saved or published recently will only show the current version. Make a small change, save it, and you'll see how the history starts being recorded.
❓ "If I restore a version, will my customers notice it immediately?" Not at all! The restoration is like opening an old blueprint on your work desk. Nobody will see those changes until you decide to press the "Save" or "Publish" button. If you close the tab without doing anything, the live version of your bot will remain intact.
Stop being afraid of making mistakes! 🚀
Version history is your personal safety net. Now your team can experiment, improve bots, and make changes with the peace of mind that you can always take a step back if something doesn't go as expected. Edit, review your history, and publish with complete confidence! ✅
