How to create WhatsApp templates in Atom?

Description: Discover the three easiest ways to design your WhatsApp templates in Atom. Learn how to access the module and understand the key rules that Meta requires to approve your messages. 🚀

💬 What is a WhatsApp template?

Templates (or HSM messages) are pre-approved texts that you use to initiate a proactive conversation with a customer or prospect. They are essential for launching mass campaign flows or for reactivating contact with a specific customer when the 24-hour window has closed.

⚙️ Step by step: How to access the module

To start designing your messages, follow these quick instructions within the platform:

  1. Go to the left sidebar menu and select Settings > Messaging > Templates.

  2. If you have more than one channel (WhatsApp number) registered in Atom, click on the specific phone line where you want to host your template.

  3. Once inside the inbox of the selected line, you'll be able to view your existing templates. To create a new one, click the "Create" button located in the upper right corner.

✨ The 3 creation options in Atom

When you click create, the system will display a menu with three different routes to design your message according to your time and format needs:

  • Create template from scratch: The classic option. It allows you to manually structure each block of your message (header, body, footer, and buttons) by selecting formats such as plain text or interactive carousels.

  • With Atom's Magic: Save time! This option uses Artificial Intelligence to write and structure the message for you based on a few instructions about what you want to communicate.

  • From Pre-loaded templates: A gallery with predefined models ready to use, organized by your industry (retail, banking, health, etc.) and your campaign topic.

⚠️ Meta's Golden Rules (Very Important!)

Before creating and submitting your template for review, you must keep in mind these three mandatory technical restrictions imposed by WhatsApp:

  • Don't repeat names: The name you assign to your template (e.g., promo_summer_24) must be unique and should never be repeated, even if the previous template is inactive. Meta validates the complete history and will automatically reject creation if it detects a duplicate name.

  • Zero emojis in headers: Make sure that the "Header" block (the main title of the template) contains text only. Including emojis in this specific section invalidates the format and prevents template creation.

  • Templates CANNOT include parameters (such as name, phone number, or information fields) at the beginning or end of the message body. If they contain them, Meta will not approve the template.

Launch your campaigns in minutes! 🚀

Whether you prefer to build your message to measure, rely on Artificial Intelligence, or use a pre-approved design, Atom gives you the tools to connect massively with your audience in just a few clicks. ✅
