📋 Pre-Migration Reviews
Before clicking start, let's make sure the "terrain" is ready. These four points are the key to a smooth migration:
Identify your WhatsApp type: This process is exclusive to numbers that already operate under WhatsApp API with another provider.
⚠️ Important note: If your number is still in the WhatsApp Business mobile app, you must delete that account first so we can integrate it professionally through the API in Atom.
Disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): For Meta to allow the transfer, two-step security must be temporarily disabled. Don't worry! Once we finish the migration, you can reactivate it.
Prepare your Tools and Access: Make sure you have the following on hand before you start:
Full Control in Business Manager: You must be an administrator of your business on Facebook.
Admin Access in Atom: It is necessary to perform configurations.
Your number ready to receive the code: If you use a physical SIM, have it in a phone with good signal. If it's a PBX (switchboard), temporarily disable the IVR (the recorder) so you can answer Meta's verification call.
💡 Expert tip: Make a test call to your number before you start. If the call comes through, we're ready to receive the code!
Status Validation in Meta: Go to
business.facebook.comand confirm that in the WhatsApp Accounts section:The account status appears in green as "Approved".
The "Display Name" of your number also appears as "Approved".
Step by Step: Activating Your Connection
Once the above is verified, the process is as simple as connecting a new number from your Atom platform:
Go to Settings > Platform > Channels > Create channel.
Select the WhatsApp channel, the provider, and your bot.
🪄 Key fact: In this flow it is NOT necessary to check the "It is a migration" box. The system will detect the change automatically.
Click on "Connect with Facebook" and follow the steps in the popup window.
✅ Final test and you're done!
To finish with a flourish, all that's left is to validate that the connection was flawless:
Send a test message to your number (you can use the
wa.me/yournumberlink).Confirm that the Atom bot responds normally.
Verify that the test message appears reflected in your Atom console.
