📋 Template Features
When you enter the templates module, each message in your list will display key technical and operational information to help you maintain control of your shipments:
Name: The unique identifier of your message.
Category: The type of communication (Marketing, Utility, or Authentication).
Group: The team or department that the template belongs to.
Status: The current review situation by Meta.
Creation Date: The exact day it was drafted.
Activated/Deactivated: The manual switch to allow or pause its use.
Actions: The quick management menu.
🚦 Review Status (Meta)
Depending on WhatsApp's evaluation or your progress in drafting it, your template will always be in one of these three states:
Approved: Officially validated by Meta and ready to be used in your mass flows or 1-on-1 chats.
Rejected: Meta did not allow its use for violating some format or commerce policy. (You will need to edit it and submit it for review again).
Draft: It is an internal document saved with partial changes, which has not yet been submitted for review.
💾 How does Draft Status Work?
The Draft mode is your lifesaver if you're drafting an extensive campaign and need to pause your work to pick it up later.
If you are editing the body of a template and click the "Back" button (or outside the editing screen), Atom will show you an alert asking if you want to save your progress.
To be able to save it, it is mandatory to give the draft a name.
If it was a mistake or you don't want to save the changes, simply click "Exit anyway".
When you're ready to resume it, find it in your list, finish your draft, and click create to submit it to Meta.
⚙️ Management Actions
By clicking the three vertical dots located to the right of any template, a menu with operational tools will appear:
Duplicate: Creates an exact copy of the selected template. It's ideal for launching similar campaigns with small variations without having to write all the text from scratch.
Deactivate: Temporarily "turns off" the template. This prevents your advisors or bots from using it by mistake, without needing to delete it from the system.
Edit: Allows you to enter configuration mode again to modify the text, buttons, or variables of a template. (Note: Editing an approved template will send it for a new Meta review).
Copy ID: Copies to your clipboard the unique identifier code of that specific template. It's very useful for advanced integrations (via API) or to facilitate the work of the support team if you have any issues.
⚠️ Important about Categories: Templates you create under the Marketing or Utility categories will initially be configured as "Utility" by default. However, during the review process, if Meta considers that the content has promotional intent, they will automatically reclassify it to "Marketing".
