📝 How to Set Up a Field Saving Smarton

The Field Saving Smarton is designed to collect and validate information from users within the conversation.

It is especially useful when you need the customer to provide specific data, such as name, phone number, address, document, or any custom field you have created in Atom.

  • Keep customer profiles updated.

  • Automatically qualify leads.

  • Schedule appointments or register requests without relying on external forms.

In Flowbuilder, drag a Smarton to the canvas of your flow.

💡Tip: Write clear and specific descriptions.

The description not only helps the user, but also defines how the AI validates and retries to capture the data.

4️⃣ Response Customization

In this section you can customize how the Smarton requests the data and how it interacts with the user.

If you enable this option, you can define:

  • Response format and styleHow the message should be presented (structure, clarity, order).

💡Tip: You can add parameters to your personalization, as well as with the AI Help button, which will help you generate a prompt.

🤖 How does the secondary prompt work?

The personalization acts as a secondary prompt that:

  • Adjusts the way the Smarton asks for the information.

  • Defines how to retry requesting data if the user does not respond correctly.

  • Maintains consistency in tone during data capture.

⚠️ Important to keep in mind:

  • This prompt does not replace the logic of the flow or change technical validations.

  • Should not be used for:Making complex decisions.Interpreting intentions.Redirecting the flow.

  • Making complex decisions.

  • Interpreting intentions.

  • Redirecting the flow.

  • Its function is to improve the capture experience, not the orchestration of the flow.

💡Best practices for the secondary prompt:

  • Be clear and specific.

  • Avoid long or ambiguous instructions.

  • Use it to guide, not to "think" for the user.

You can rely on the AI Help button to generate a prompt base and then adjust it according to your case.

Remember to click Save to apply the changes.

5️⃣ Update customer stage

According to the data collected, you can configure the customer to advance in the funnel.

Example:

  • If they provide name and product of interest → goes to Lead.

  • If they also provide contact information and budget → goes to MQL or SQL.

6️⃣ Configure timeout

Define how long the Smarton should wait before closing the interaction if the user does not respond.

⚠️ Remember that in WhatsApp the maximum recommended time is 24 hours.

✨ Practical Examples

  • Financial: collect income, history, and contact data to evaluate a credit.

  • Education: register data of a student interested in enrolling (phone number, major, start date).

  • Services: schedule an appointment asking for name, date, and preferred time.

✅ Best Practices

  • Define in advance what information is really necessary for your process.

  • Avoid asking for too many fields in a row, it can cause the user to abandon the conversation.

  • Use clear and specific descriptions in each field.
