Why doesn't my template with a button link appear in my campaign flow?

Your template with link button is not appearing in your campaign flow? Discover why this configuration breaks your bot's interaction and learn how to use quick reply buttons to retain your customers in Atom. 🚀

🔗 Why not use templates with link buttons in your flows?

Templates with link buttons are excellent marketing tools for redirecting traffic to your website, online store, or external forms. However, they are not suitable for inclusion in campaign flows (which is why Atom does not show them as an option) due to a fundamental reason: flows depend on direct interaction and tracking of user responses.

🛑 The problem: Interaction breakdown

When a customer interacts with an automated flow, they are expected to follow a structured path: answering questions, selecting options, and advancing through different branches. The bot (Flowbuilder) is designed to receive and process those responses in real time to know what action to execute next.

If you use a template with a link button, the following happens:

  • Chat abandonment: The user clicks and immediately leaves WhatsApp to go to their web browser.

  • Bot disconnection: The flow can no longer track what the user did on that external page, leaving it stuck at that step.

  • Fragmented experience: By interrupting the natural cycle of questions and answers, you lose the continuity and traceability of the conversation.

✅ The ideal alternatives for your flows

To maintain the coherence and effectiveness of your automated campaign, it is crucial to use components that allow continuous, two-way communication. You have two main options:

  • Quick Reply Buttons: The perfect alternative. They allow the user to select predefined options (e.g., "I'm interested", "Learn more") with a single tap, without leaving the chat. The "Evaluate Response" component detects that click and continues guiding the customer through the correct branch.

  • Simple templates (without buttons): Informational text messages that invite the user to interact organically by typing their response (e.g., "Enter your ID number to continue").

Keep the conversation alive within the chat! 🚀

The goal of a campaign flow in Atom is to automate customer service and qualify leads without friction. If you redirect your client to an external link in the first message, your bot will be left waiting for a response that will never come. Always prioritize quick reply buttons to ensure a smooth, measurable, and highly effective experience. ✅
