🧩 What are component blocks?
Building complex flows can involve assembling sequences from scratch, node by node, over and over again. Component blocks allow you to encapsulate specific parts of a flow and save them to your Library to insert them into any project with a single click.
The promise is simple: Save once, insert always. This tool reduces repetitive setup time to zero, helping standardize best operational practices and lowering the technical barrier for users.
⚙️ Main Features
The user experience is designed so you never have to leave your FlowBuilder's active canvas:
1. Save blocks directly from the canvas
You don't need to exit your flow to create reusable resources.
How to do it? Simply select one or multiple nodes on the canvas (using
Shift + Clickor dragging the cursor) and use the floating "Save block" option.
2. Block Library side panel
All access to your blocks occurs from the same canvas where you're working.
Click the "Insert block" button in the toolbar to open a side panel.
Here you'll find two main sections:
AtomChat — Curated (Global): Blocks with best practices created and published by AtomChat (e.g. "Automotive Recovery", "Education Recovery with schedules").
My workspace: Custom blocks created by you or administrators in your company.
3. Intelligent and frictionless insertion
When you select a block from the panel and insert it, the nodes materialize on your canvas already connected to each other. You'll only need to connect the ends of this block with the rest of your flow.
Resolution of missing elements: If you insert a block that references an element that doesn't exist in your current environment (such as a Group, Classification, or specific Tag), the system will alert you immediately and give you the option to create them automatically with a single click.
4. Comprehensive management without leaving the flow
If you're an Administrator, when you hover over the blocks in your workspace in the side panel, you'll see a ⋯ menu that will allow you to Edit (change name, icon, or description) or Delete blocks you no longer need.
👤 Who is this tool for?
Component blocks are designed to provide value at different levels of technical knowledge:
Implementers and Technical Admins: Encapsulate their most complex sequences (e.g. HTTP integrations, data scraping) to reuse them quickly in other flows without having to map variables again.
Non-Technical Admins: Reduce their learning curve by using the global blocks pre-built by AtomChat, ensuring their flows work perfectly from day one.
⚠️ Technical Notes and System Behavior
It's important to understand how AtomChat handles information from these blocks:
Snapshot (Static Copy): When you save a block, the system takes a "photograph" of the configuration at that moment. When you insert it into a flow, the nodes are completely editable individually.
No retroactive impact: If you decide to edit or delete a saved block in your Library, the flows where you had already inserted it in the past will NOT be affected. Deletion or modification only applies to future uses.
Maximize your team's efficiency! 🚀
With component blocks, building flows stops being repetitive work to become an agile and standardized process. Start saving your best sequences and build your own library of fail-proof solutions. ✅
