📝 What are Information Fields for?
The Information Fields allow Agents to complete additional customer information, which is important for your company according to your business type.
Atom comes with 3 default information fields: name, phone, and email. You can also view field associations if you have connected integrations.
➕ How to create Information Fields?
To create new custom fields, follow the steps detailed below:
Select the Settings > Conversations module.
Click on the Information Fields option.
Click the "Create" button located in the top right corner.
In the Create information field screen, complete the following fields:
Data type: You can configure three types of data for the field you want to create:
Text: When you need to add a description, an address, or any data specified through text.
Number: When you need to add a quantity, the customer's age, or any data detailed numerically.
Currency: When you need to add monetary values.
Field name: The name of the information field you are creating.
Length: Corresponds to the maximum number of characters that can be used to complete the field.
Once you have completed the requested information, click the "Save" button.
Agents will see in the Conversations module (in the right side column, "Customer Information" section) all the information fields that have been created by the Administrator so they can complete the additional customer information necessary for the company.
(Conversations Module Screen - Agent View).
⚠️ What do the following messages mean when trying to create a field?
"The information field cannot match the system field"
This occurs when you try to create a field with the same name, type, and length as a field that comes by default from the system. Remember that Atom already has 3 default information fields: name, phone, and email. If you want, for example, to create a secondary phone field, you must name it differently in order to save it.
"An information field with that name already exists but is inactive"
In this case, this message is given when that field is already created but for some reason an administrator has disabled it. We recommend that before creating a new one with a different name for the same purpose, consult with your administrator to see if it is feasible to reuse the inactive field. This way you will avoid inconsistencies in your information. Otherwise, if it is a completely different field that will be used for another purpose, simply name it differently.
💡 IMPORTANT: All information fields you create will be available in Atom to be used in templates, Webhooks, Flowbuilder, and all those places where it is possible to use them.
