⚠️ Prior Requirement
Important: The Administrator is the only user who has the necessary permissions to configure the Web Plugin on the platform. Make sure you have this role before you begin.
🛠️ How to Create the Web Plugin in Atom?
To start configuring this tool, follow these steps within your account:
Go to the side menu and select the Settings > Platform > Channels module.
Click the "Create" button (or "Create Channel") located in the top right corner of the screen.
Click on the Web Plugin option.
Click the "Continue" button.
🎨 Plugin Customization
In the next screen, you will need to complete a series of fields so that the chat design adapts perfectly to your brand's visual identity:
Image: Select the image with which the web plugin will display on your site; it can be your logo or something representative of your brand.
Name: This is the main header of the web plugin.
Description: You can specify your company's slogan or a short welcome message. (This description appears just below the name).
Language: This corresponds to the language in which the plugin interface will be configured; you can choose between Spanish or English.
Color: This is the color of the chat header; select a color representative of your brand.
Enable button movement: Enable a button movement animation during the specified execution time to draw the visitor's attention.
Data persistence: Enable this option to save the conversation history in your client's browser cache.
Execution time: This is the time in seconds that the web plugin will wait to deploy automatically when a customer visits your website.
Customization: This corresponds to the initial text with which the chat will open.
Once you have configured these details, click the "Continue" button.
🤖 Bot Selection and Connection
On the next screen, select the Bot of your choice. (Remember: You must have a bot configured previously for this channel, which should assign chats to a support group).
Click "Continue".
Review the summary of your configuration. Once the plugin is saved, you will see the Connect button.
Click to connect. Once successfully connected, the plugin will appear in your channel list ready to be inserted into your website.
💻 How to Add It to Your Website?
To install the plugin and start working on your page, you need to get its installation code:
Go to the Channels screen, select the web plugin you just configured, and click the three-dot menu (⋮).
Select the Get Script option.
Copy the code (web plugin script) shown on the screen.
Paste this code inside the
<head> ... </head>tags in the source code of your website pages.
💡 Customization Tip (Chat Position): You can move the chat bubble as you like by adding a parameter to the custom styles of your script. You just need to add the customchat property as follows: customchat='["position: bottom-left"]'. This will allow you to change the position of the chat on the screen according to your preferences.
